Nigeria’s Flamingos continue to underline their credentials as one of Africa’s brightest youth teams, cruising into the final round of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers with a ruthless display against Guinea.
After a commanding 5-0 first-leg victory, the Nigerian girls completed the job in style with a 6-0 demolition of Guinea in Ikenne, securing an emphatic 11-0 aggregate triumph.
Oluwakemi Adegbuyi opened the floodgates in the ninth minute before captain Harmony Chidi doubled the lead with a stunning long-range effort.
Queen Joseph added a third, while Adegbuyi and Chidi both completed braces before substitute Precious Oscar rounded off the scoring in the second half.
The victory sets up a decisive final qualifying clash against Benin Republic as the Flamingos move a step closer to booking a place at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
In recognition of the team’s impressive performance, proprietor of Remo Stars and Beyond Limits Football Club, Hon. Kunle Soname, fulfilled his promise of N750,000 per goal by rewarding the players with N4.5 million following their six-goal haul in Ikenne.
