Command Changes, Mission Unchanged: Operation HADIN KAI Reaffirms Offensive Against Terrorists
In the fight against insurgency, continuity of leadership is often as critical as battlefield victories.
That message was reinforced as Operational HADIN KAI carried out smooth command transitions across its key operational sectors in Nigeria’s North-East.
The military announced successful change-of-command ceremonies in Sectors 1, 2 and 3, covering Maiduguri, Damaturu and Monguno respectively, with outgoing commanders handing over to new leaders in line with military tradition.
At Sector 1 in Maiduguri, Brigadier General Ugochukwu Unachukwu handed over to Brigadier General Solomon Diwa, expressing confidence that the division was being left in a more stable condition.
Diwa pledged to build on existing gains and maintain operational effectiveness against terrorist groups.
In Damaturu, Sector 2 Commander Brigadier General Beyidi Martins transferred leadership to Brigadier General Edet Effiong, who promised to intensify operations while strengthening collaboration with local communities.
Meanwhile, in Monguno, Brigadier General Shehu Ahmed assumed command from Major General Suleiman Tilawan, vowing to sustain offensive operations and prioritise troop welfare as part of efforts to restore lasting peace and stability.
Operation HADIN KAI said the leadership changes would not affect ongoing military operations, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining pressure on terrorist elements and safeguarding communities across the North-East.
