Children’s Day: NAWOJ FCT Demands Stronger Protection, Better Future For Nigerian Children

As Nigeria marks the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists FCT Chapter has called for greater protection, improved welfare and expanded opportunities for children across the country.

In a statement signed by the Chairperson of the chapter, Bassey Ita-Ikpang, the association stressed that every child deserves access to quality education, healthcare, love and protection regardless of gender or social background.

NAWOJ FCT urged parents, government and other stakeholders to intensify efforts towards safeguarding children from abuse, exploitation and all forms of violence while investing more in their future.

The association also encouraged children to remain focused and hopeful, describing them as the pride and future of the nation.

“Every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their dreams,” the statement added.
