Nigeria Joins Strategic BRICS Talks In India
As global powers intensify discussions on economic realignment and geopolitical stability, Nigeria has joined other nations at the ongoing BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, India.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dunoma Umar Ahmed, arrived in India to represent Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, at the high-level meeting taking place on May 14 and 15 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The meeting, chaired by India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, is focused on strengthening economic cooperation among BRICS nations, reforming global governance structures, and addressing regional conflicts ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit scheduled for later this year.
Nigeria’s participation underscores the country’s growing diplomatic engagement in emerging global alliances and multilateral discussions shaping international economic and political relations.
