Power Sector Blame Game Deepens As TCN Rejects AEDC Outage Claim
As Nigerians continue to grapple with an unstable electricity supply, tensions between power agencies are increasingly spilling into the public space.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria has strongly denied claims by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company that a transmission fault caused outages affecting several communities in Lokoja, Kogi State.
In a statement signed by its General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, TCN stated that all feeders serving the affected areas, including Zango, Shetima, and Crown Estate, are fully operational with no faults or maintenance activities on its network.
The company insisted that bulk electricity is being delivered to AEDC at the required capacity and distanced itself completely from the disruption experienced by consumers.
TCN also accused AEDC of issuing inaccurate and unverified claims, warning that such actions could damage public confidence in Nigeria’s fragile power sector.
The transmission firm reaffirmed its commitment to a reliable electricity supply and urged greater responsibility and due diligence among operators in the industry.
