In a move that underscores the All Progressives Congress’s preference for consensus over contest, Dr

Ben Nwoye has emerged as the party’s new Deputy National Chairman (South) at its ongoing elective convention.

Nwoye, a former state chairman and Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC in Enugu State, was officially unveiled moments ago, confirming earlier signals that he had secured backing as the consensus candidate for the position.

He takes over from Chief Emma Eneukwu, a long-standing figure in the party’s national leadership who held the role for over a decade.

Nwoye, alongside other newly elected members of the National Working Committee, is set to be sworn in, marking a new phase in the party’s internal structure.

Party insiders say his emergence reflects strategic alignments aimed at reinforcing unity and stability within the APC, particularly as it navigates evolving political dynamics ahead of future electoral cycles.
