ADC Dismisses Prophet’s 2027 Prediction, Backs Peter Obi’s Presidential Ambition
As political permutations for the 2027 general election gather pace, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has firmly rejected a controversial prophecy claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election has already been decided “in the spiritual realm.”
The Anambra-based spiritualist, Ramas Asuzu, had urged former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to abandon his 2027 ambition, insisting that the outcome of the election had been spiritually predetermined in favour of President Tinubu.
However, reacting to the claim, the Anambra State Chairman of the ADC, Comrade Patrick Obianyo, dismissed the prophecy as baseless and a product of imagination, urging Nigerians and party supporters to ignore it.
Speaking in a telephone interview, Obianyo said the so-called prophecy held no political or spiritual weight, insisting that it should not distract Nigerians from the democratic process.
“As far as ADC and well-meaning Nigerians are concerned, Peter Obi will win the 2027 presidential election,” he said, adding that such claims were likely driven by political calculations rather than divine insight.
The ADC chairman warned against attaching significance to spiritual pronouncements in political contests, stressing that Nigeria’s leadership should be decided by the will of the people, not alleged prophecies.
Meanwhile, political activities within the ADC are intensifying ahead of 2027, with party chieftain and political economist, Professor Pat Utomi, also declaring interest in the race, signalling growing internal momentum within the party.
