Anambra Police Hail Peaceful Yuletide, Seek Stronger Public Support In 2026
A calm and incident-light festive season in Anambra State has been attributed to improved security coordination and growing community cooperation, according to the State Police Command.
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has commended police operatives and other security agencies for their dedication, courage and professionalism during the Yuletide security operations across the state.
He said the effective synergy between the Police, sister security agencies and other stakeholders played a key role in ensuring a peaceful Christmas and New Year celebration.
CP Orutugu also praised Ndi Anambra for their vigilance and support, stressing that strong community partnership remains the backbone of effective policing.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Police Commissioner urged residents to deepen their cooperation by providing timely and actionable intelligence that would help security agencies prevent crime and respond swiftly to emerging threats.
He reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to proactive policing and the continued protection of lives and property across Anambra State.
The Anambra State Police Command said it remains resolute in sustaining security strategies aimed at strengthening public safety and maintaining relative peace in the year ahead.
