Soludo’s Re-election Reflects Preparedness And Long-term Vision, Says Senator Emmanuel Anosike

At a time when political conversations in Anambra are increasingly shifting from campaign rhetoric to governance expectations, Senator Emmanuel Anosike, Chairman of the Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority, has described Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s victory as a triumph of preparedness, intellect and long-term planning.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, Senator Anosike who represented Anambra North in the fifth Assembly, said Soludo’s re-election was widely embraced because “he is one person who truly prepared for this job,” adding that the governor’s depth, vision and persistence set him apart.

According to him, while his own brother, who also contested, proved he had leadership capacity, the people recognised that Soludo had worked longer, planned deeper and returned more prepared for the task ahead.

On Soludo’s leadership style, the Senator described him as “a long-distance runner” whose approach to governance relies on strategy rather than quick political wins.

He expressed confidence that the governor’s second term would deliver “even more visible transformation.”

Assessing the governor’s first tenure, Anosike praised his handling of security in the South East, noting that initial misunderstandings about his tough stance on criminal networks later gave way to public appreciation.

“He dismantled the structures that supported criminal activities, and peace began to return. His security strategy remains one of the best in the region,” he said.

However, he advised Soludo to “open up more” and deepen political inclusion now that the election is over, stressing that governance must transcend party lines.

On the contentious debate over zoning, Anosike dismissed the idea as “a political comfort language,” arguing that leadership in Anambra should be based on capacity, not geography.

Touching on infrastructure, he voiced concern over the limited flight operations at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport despite its world-class runway.

He urged the governor to engage airlines to restore regular flights, noting that security around the airport has significantly improved.

Commending INEC’s handling of the recent election, the senator applauded the speed and transparency of result transmission, saying “at least 85-90% of the system worked as intended.”

He also praised security agencies for maintaining professionalism throughout the process.

In his message to Ndi Anambra, Anosike called for unity and constructive engagement:

“Politics is over; governance has begun. Supporting Soludo means supporting Anambra State. Let’s move the state forward together.”
