Nigeria’s Finance Minister Wale Edun Travels To The UK For Medical Attention
Nigeria’s economic team is temporarily without its chief strategist as the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, has reportedly travelled to the United Kingdom to seek medical attention.
Multiple sources close to the development confirmed the minister’s trip, though details about his health condition remain undisclosed.
Mr Edun, who has been a central figure in President Bola Tinubu’s economic reform agenda, was said to have left the country quietly earlier this week amid growing public scrutiny of the government’s handling of fiscal and monetary challenges.
While officials have yet to make an official statement, insiders suggest the minister’s trip is precautionary and that he is expected to return to Nigeria soon to resume his duties.
His absence comes at a critical time when the administration is pushing forward with economic stabilisation measures aimed at curbing inflation and boosting investor confidence.
