Military, Security Agencies Set For Joint Route March To Strengthen Fitness and Unity
In a show of strength, solidarity, and preparedness, the Defence Headquarters has announced that personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies will embark on a joint route march in Abuja on Friday, 10 October 2025.
According to a statement by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director of Defence Information, the exercise—which begins at 5:00 a.m. will start from the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment football field, proceed to Mambilla Barracks, and return through Niger Barracks.
The Defence Headquarters explained that the route march is a routine physical fitness activity designed to foster teamwork, operational readiness, and mutual understanding among security personnel.
Residents and motorists, particularly those commuting along the Asokoro–AYA axis, have been advised to use alternative routes as traffic management officials will be on hand to ensure smooth movement during the exercise.
While regretting any inconvenience the temporary diversions might cause, the Defence Headquarters appealed for public understanding and cooperation as the event aims to strengthen coordination among Nigeria’s security forces.
