Falconets Set For World Cup Qualifier Against Rwanda In Kigali

Nigeria’s U20 women’s team, the Falconets, are battle-ready as they prepare to face Rwanda in the second round of the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The first-leg clash is scheduled for Sunday at the Kigali-Pele Stadium, formerly known as Stade Regional Nyamirambo, with kick-off set for 3pm local time (2pm in Nigeria).

On Friday, the team held a recovery session at their hotel gym, displaying energy and determination under the guidance of the technical crew.

Team officials say the players are highly motivated and eager to secure an away advantage.

Match officials from Sierra Leone and Liberia will oversee the game. Sierra Leone’s Aminata Fullah will referee, assisted by Liberia’s Hannah Lydia Moses and Fatmata Mansaray of Sierra Leone. The fourth official is Love Tuu Wehyee of Liberia.

Militna Ivanete Amrie from Seychelles will serve as commissioner, while Amegee Aissata Ameyo has been appointed referee assessor.

The Falconets will be looking to continue their impressive record in youth football as they push for a ticket to the 2026 finals.
