Foreign Affairs Ministry Mourns Diplomat Ziphorah Kela
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden passing of Ms Ziphorah Kela, a dedicated mid-career diplomat who died on Tuesday, 5 August 2025, after a brief illness in a private hospital in Abuja.
Ms Kela, who joined the Nigerian Foreign Service in 2013, was known for her professionalism and unwavering commitment to duty.
She served in Nigeria’s missions in The Gambia and Argentina, and until her death, was part of the Presidential Villa Protocol Team.
In a statement signed by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, she was described as a diligent officer whose contributions left a lasting mark on Nigeria’s diplomatic service.
The Ministry extended heartfelt condolences to her family, colleagues, and friends, praying for God’s comfort and her peaceful rest.
