IGP Hails POWA’s Transformational Leadership At 2025 Convention
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has applauded the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) for its dedication to empowering police families, as the group kicks off its 2025 Annual National Convention in Lagos.
In a statement, the IGP praised POWA’s President, Dr (Mrs) Elizabeth Egbetokun, for her visionary leadership, describing the convention’s theme “Unlocking POWA Potentials and Transformational Leadership” as both timely and inspiring.
Held at the iconic Eko Hotels and Suites, the three-day event is attracting top dignitaries, including government officials, traditional rulers, diplomats, development partners, and senior police officers.
IGP Egbetokun reaffirmed the Police Force’s commitment to improving welfare packages for both serving and retired personnel, while emphasising the critical role of POWA in promoting mental, physical, and economic well-being among members.
The 2025 convention will feature empowerment programmes, sports activities, and targeted initiatives to equip women with tools to become transformative leaders within their homes and communities.
“This convention is more than an event; it is a movement towards a more resilient and peaceful Nigeria, driven by empowered women,” the IGP stated.
