ECOWAS Experts Trained To Fast-Track Digital Trade Reforms

In a major step toward advancing digital trade in West Africa, the ECOWAS Commission, with support from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), has launched a training programme aimed at boosting coordination and accountability in e-commerce reforms.

Held on Monday, 14th July 2025, in Lagos, Nigeria, the training focused on the use of the e-Trade Reform Tracker (eTRT) a cutting-edge digital tool designed to help implementing agencies monitor progress, streamline actions, and ensure effective delivery of digital trade initiatives.

The eTRT is expected to play a crucial role in accelerating reform efforts across the region by offering real-time insights and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders.

As the digital economy continues to evolve, this initiative positions ECOWAS at the forefront of regional integration and innovation—driving inclusive growth through smarter trade systems.
