FRSC Recovers 35 Stolen Vehicles Using Innovative Tech In Six Months

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recorded another milestone in its efforts to tackle vehicle-related crimes, recovering 35 stolen vehicles across Nigeria in just six months, thanks to its tech-driven operations.

The feat was made possible through the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) portal a smart, data-driven platform that helps trace and verify vehicles nationwide.

Among the recovered vehicles were 24 Toyota models, 5 Lexus cars, 2 Mercedes, as well as a Ford Focus, Daihatsu, Pontiac Vibe, and a Toyota Sienna.

The vehicles were stolen through various means including armed robbery and fraudulent schemes.

FRSC collaborated closely with other security agencies and state governments to track and retrieve the stolen cars from different locations across the country.

Delighted by the successful operation, the Corps Marshal praised the officers involved, saying the achievement reflects the power of technology and inter-agency cooperation in modern law enforcement.

He reiterated the Corps’ commitment not only to road safety but also to national security, encouraging Nigerians to verify vehicle details through the NVIS portal before making purchases.

“Together with the public, we can build a safer society,” the Corps said, urging citizens to report suspicious vehicle registrations and use the FRSC mobile app or website for verification.
