SGF Approves Promotion Of 18 New Assistant Corps Marshals To Strengthen FRSC Leadership
In a bid to enhance the leadership and operational capacity of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has approved the promotion of 18 Senior Officers to the rank of Assistant Corps Marshal.
The move, announced on 19 May 2025, is expected to boost the Corps’ efforts in promoting safer roads and reducing traffic-related incidents across Nigeria.
Among the promoted officers, three ACM YK Nadabo, ACM JA Akpa, and ACM P Okoyeocha are scheduled to proceed on retirement immediately.
The remaining 15 officers, who will continue in active service, include ACM TL Bamigbayan, ACM JO Asolu, ACM AG Sanusi, and ACM AM Hassan, among others.
SGF Akume described the promotion process as rigorous and transparent, reflecting the Tinubu administration’s commitment to reinforcing the management structure of the FRSC.
He expressed confidence that the newly promoted officers would help address road safety challenges with greater effectiveness.
Congratulating the officers, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed praised their dedication and urged them to remain steadfast in the Corps’ mission to save lives.
He reaffirmed the FRSC’s commitment to safer highways and a reduction in road traffic crashes nationwide.
