Police Rescue 15 Kidnap Victims, Recover Arms In Seven-State Operations
A coordinated police response across seven states has disrupted kidnapping, banditry, cultism and robbery, with 15 kidnap victims rescued and several firearms recovered.
In Kogi, police-led security operatives rescued all 15 victims after a gun battle with their abductors. Some kidnappers were reportedly neutralised while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
In Benue, officers responding to a bandit attack at Tse Udi in Tombo Ward killed one suspected attacker and recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with 17 rounds of ammunition.
Police also arrested suspects and recovered firearms in Bayelsa, Ekiti and Enugu, while a stolen Mercedes-Benz GLK was recovered in Ondo and a suspected vehicle thief arrested.
In Lagos, police and firefighters contained a bungalow fire at Itire, with no deaths recorded.
The Force said investigations into the various incidents are ongoing.
