Legacy Beyond Wealth: Abuja Cathedral Honours Late Godswill Nwosu’s Life Of Generosity
A person’s true wealth may ultimately be measured not by what they accumulated, but by the lives they touched, a message that resonated as family, friends and associates gathered in Abuja to honour the late Chief Engr. Godswill Nwosu (KSC).
The Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life Camp, was filled on Monday as mourners celebrated the life of Nwosu, fondly called Chinemeze, describing him as a devoted family man, philanthropist and humanitarian whose generosity impacted both church and society.
The Primate of All Nigeria and Bishop of Abuja, the Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, described Nwosu as a man of wisdom, faith and prayer whose death was deeply painful to the Anglican community.
“What will be your legacy? What will people say about you when you die? How many lives have you touched?” Ndukuba asked, urging mourners to live purposefully and leave legacies worthy of emulation.
Tributes from friends, colleagues, church groups and family members portrayed Nwosu as humble, accessible and selfless.
Barrister Nnamdi Asumugha remembered him as a generous man who was always willing to help, while staff member Uju Chibogu described him as an organised and compassionate boss who became a father figure to those around him.
His children, Nmesoma and Chigozim Nwosu, remembered their father as a great leader and gentle parent who taught them the importance of using wealth not only for personal wellbeing but also to help others.
Born in 1977, Nwosu is survived by his wife, four children, parents and two brothers. He will be laid to rest at his family home on 10 July 2026.
