Troops Rescue Six Abductees, Recover Ammunition In Borno Offensive
Six more victims have regained their freedom in Borno State as sustained military pressure on terrorists yields further gains in the North-East.
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI rescued four adults and two infants during ongoing search and rescue operations at Talakawa in Chibok Local Government Area.
The victims, abducted from Mussa in Askira/Uba LGA in May, were evacuated to a secure location for medical evaluation and care ahead of their reunion with their families.
The military said the operation followed sustained air and ground efforts backed by credible intelligence.
During further operations along the terrorists’ withdrawal route, troops recovered 50 rounds of PKT ammunition abandoned by fleeing insurgents.
Operation HADIN KAI said troops remain in pursuit of the terrorists and vowed to sustain search and rescue efforts until all remaining abducted persons are accounted for.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities and disregard unverified information capable of causing unnecessary anxiety.
