Troops Kill Two Terrorists, Recover Weapons In Kebbi Offensive
Nigeria’s military has intensified its offensive against armed groups in the North-West, with troops eliminating two suspected terrorists and recovering weapons during a clearance operation in Kebbi State.
Troops of Sector 2, 8 Division, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, engaged the terrorists around Sabarumawa while conducting an operation to deny criminal elements freedom of movement.
Military sources said the troops overpowered the suspects after a fierce gun battle, killing two terrorists while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
Recovered from the scene were two AK-47 rifles, nine AK-47 magazines, rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, and a motorcycle believed to have been used by the fleeing terrorists.
The military said the operation forms part of sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt their logistics, and restore lasting peace across the North-West.
It also urged residents to continue providing credible intelligence to support ongoing security operations.
