DIG Fayoade Rallies Ogun Stakeholders For Stronger Community, Technology-Driven Policing

Security is most effective when built on trust, collaboration and innovation, a message reinforced as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the South-West and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), DIG Fayoade Mustapha Adegoke, concluded a strategic working visit to Ogun State aimed at strengthening intelligence-led policing.

The visit, undertaken on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, featured engagements with the Ogun State Government, traditional rulers, security agencies, community leaders and police personnel to deepen cooperation in tackling crime and improving public safety.

Addressing a broad stakeholders’ forum in Abeokuta, DIG Fayoade stressed that security is a shared responsibility, urging residents and community leaders to support the police with timely and credible intelligence.

He also encouraged Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to sustain regular engagement with communities to strengthen grassroots policing.

The Deputy Inspector-General further met with officers of the Ogun State Police Command, commending their professionalism while charging them to uphold discipline, integrity, accountability and respect for human rights.

He also paid courtesy visits to the Ogun State Government and the Alake of Egbaland, reaffirming the importance of collaboration with government and traditional institutions.

At the Police College of Information and Technology in Kobape, Abeokuta, DIG Fayoade applauded efforts to build the technological capacity of officers, describing digital innovation as central to modern policing.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, pledged the command’s continued commitment to professional, intelligence-led policing and stronger partnerships with stakeholders.
