Gov Eno Marks Three Years In Office, Reaffirms Commitment To People-Centred Development

A government’s true legacy is often measured not by promises made, but by projects completed and lives impacted.

For Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, the third anniversary of his administration was an opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to delivering sustainable development under the ARISE Agenda.

Speaking during a colourful variety night held at the Club House Arena of the ARISE Palm Resort in Uyo, Governor Eno assured residents that his administration would see through all ongoing projects, whether inherited or newly initiated, while prioritising programmes that improve livelihoods, security and social welfare.

The governor highlighted the transformation of the ARISE Palm Resort from a gully erosion site into a world-class tourism destination, describing it as a symbol of his administration’s focus on impactful projects rather than personal glorification.

He expressed gratitude to Akwa Ibom people for their support and acknowledged the roles of his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio in supporting his administration.

Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Eno urged politicians to avoid insults and divisive rhetoric, advocating issue-based campaigns focused on the welfare of citizens.

The event also featured the presentation of cheques to winners of the ARISE Home Farmers Scheme 2.0. Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Offiong Offor, revealed that participation surged from just over 600 entries in 2024 to 15,621 entries this year, reflecting growing acceptance of the state’s Back-to-Farm initiative.

She noted that the scheme has encouraged residents to embrace home-based food production, boosting household food security and income generation.

The anniversary celebration was marked by musical performances, cultural displays, comedy acts and other entertainment showcases, drawing participants from across political and social divides in a celebration of the state’s development journey.
