Nnamdi Kanu’s Wife Begs Court To Save Her Husband’s Life Amid Detention Ordeal
In a heartfelt plea that underscores growing concerns over the health of the detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB) leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, his wife, Favour Michael Kanu, has appealed to Justice James Omotosho of the Abuja High Court not to allow her husband to die in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Mrs Kanu, visibly emotional, urged the court to consider her husband’s deteriorating health and ensure he receives adequate medical attention.
She expressed fear that the prolonged detention and harsh conditions could endanger his life, stressing that justice should not come at the cost of human life.
Her plea comes amid renewed calls from human rights groups and supporters of the IPoB leader for his unconditional release or transfer to a medical facility where he can receive proper care.
Kanu has been in DSS custody since his re-arrest in 2021, facing charges bordering on treasonable felony and other offences.
