In a show of growing political momentum ahead of the next election cycle, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) staged a massive rally in Dutse, Jigawa State, on Saturday, welcoming no fewer than 66,044 defectors from various opposition parties into its fold.

The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, led members of the National Working Committee (NWC) to the event, where they joined the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, alongside top political leaders and state executives, to welcome the new entrants.

The rally, which drew an impressive crowd, underscored the party’s widening influence in the North-West region as thousands of supporters pledged their allegiance to the APC.

Prof. Yilwatda commended the defectors for their decision, describing it as a vote of confidence in the party’s leadership and commitment to good governance.

Governor Namadi, on his part, assured the new members of equal opportunity within the party, urging them to work collectively towards the progress of Jigawa State and Nigeria at large.
