NDLEA Cross River Commander Found Dead In Calabar Hotel
The Cross River State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Morrison Ogbonna, has been found dead in his hotel room in Calabar.
The discovery was made in the early hours of Thursday, 18 September 2025.
Details surrounding the circumstances of his death remain unclear at the time of filing this report, but security operatives have since sealed off the area while investigations are underway.
Ogbonna’s sudden death has sent shockwaves across the state and within the NDLEA, where he was widely recognised for his commitment to tackling drug abuse and trafficking.
The NDLEA has yet to issue an official statement.
