Nigeria Condemns Israeli Airstrike In Qatar, Calls For Restraint

Nigeria has voiced deep concern over an Israeli airstrike in Doha, Qatar, on 9 September, which reportedly targeted senior members of Hamas.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, the Federal Government stressed the importance of respecting national sovereignty and international law, warning that cross-border use of force threatens regional stability and undermines diplomatic efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Nigeria commended Qatar’s longstanding role in mediation and urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint, avoid escalation, and recommit to peaceful dialogue.

The government extended its sympathies to those affected and reaffirmed its support for global initiatives aimed at de-escalation, peace, and security, pledging to work with the United Nations and other multilateral partners towards a durable resolution.
