Operation Hadin Kai Launches First Air-to-Ground Integration Training In Maiduguri

Operation Hadin Kai has kicked off its first-ever Air-to-Ground Integration (AGI) training aimed at improving coordination between ground troops and air assets in the fight against insurgency in the North East.

The orientation programme, which began on Monday at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, was inaugurated by the Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar.

He said the exercise was vital to boosting operational efficiency, preventing friendly fire, and reducing civilian casualties in the theatre of operations.

“Our collective efforts in combating terrorism require a well-trained and professional force that can work in synergy with other agencies and entities,” he noted, urging participants to approach the training with humility and open-mindedness.

The programme, facilitated by the Air Warfare and Doctrine Centre (AWDC), will provide troops with practical knowledge of AGI concepts and applications.

General Abubakar praised the AWDC team for their expertise, describing the collaboration as a boost to professionalism within the command.

He also expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede NAM, for providing strategic support, and lauded troops for their sacrifices in the ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.

Brigadier General Julius Ogbobe, the Theatre Training Officer, encouraged participants to be attentive, while Wing Commander Asa Abatura of the AWDC assured that facilitators were committed to ensuring troops left the training better equipped for operations.
