Anthony Toruka Shines As St. Augustine’s Best, Bags ₦300,000 and 18 Awards
St. Augustine College, New Karu, Nasarawa State, was awash with pride and celebration as it held its 10th Annual Graduation and Prize-Giving Day, themed “Life is a Marathon, Not a Sprint.”
At the heart of the celebration was 2025’s standout graduate, Anthony Toruka, who stole the spotlight by clinching ₦300,000 and 18 awards, including the prestigious title of Overall Best Graduating Student. With an impressive JAMB score of 364, Anthony carved his name into the school’s history books.
Described as “a child of exceptional grace,” the atmosphere buzzed with admiration each time his name echoed through the hall.
Principal Rev. Fr. Michael Okpe commended the class of 2025 for their dedication, calling them “one of the finest the school has produced,” and urged them to uphold values of discipline, integrity, and compassion in life’s next chapter.
Guest speaker, Mrs Emily Offodile, also inspired the young graduates to embrace risks and failures as part of growth, highlighting the importance of soft skills in today’s world.
In an emotional speech, Anthony thanked his teachers and family, promising to carry forward the lessons and values instilled in him.
His proud mother, Mrs Dominica Toruka, praised both her son’s commitment and the school’s supportive environment.
Outgoing Head Boy, Oluwatairilore Ajiboye, also shared heartfelt remarks, expressing confidence that the class of 2025 was well-equipped to navigate the future.
As the ceremony ended, it was clear that while the journey has only just begun, this generation is ready to run their marathon with purpose and grace.
