Troops Ambush Lakurawa Terrorists In Kebbi, Recover Bikes, Radios
An attempted attack in Kebbi State has been disrupted after troops ambushed suspected Lakurawa terrorists moving towards Ugwan Hassan Village in Dandi Local Government Area.
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, acted on intelligence about the group’s movement and laid an ambush at a known crossing point near the community.
The military said the terrorists were forced to flee after troops engaged them with superior firepower.
Two motorcycles, mobile phones and T&T communication radios were recovered from the scene.
Troops also found a Nigerien identity card belonging to one of the fleeing suspects from the Tilbiri Region of Niger Republic.
The military said troops have intensified patrols in the area and are pursuing the fleeing terrorists to prevent further attacks.
