A quick security response has prevented a suspected terrorist attack on Kaddanya Village in Charanchi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA under 17 Brigade were alerted at about 11:20 a.m. on Sunday after suspected terrorists were reportedly seen converging around the community.
Personnel from the Forward Operating Base, Radda, moved swiftly to the area alongside Nigeria Police officers from Kankia/Charanchi and members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps.
The joint team disrupted the planned attack before the suspected terrorists could strike and subsequently conducted patrols around the community and likely routes of movement to prevent a regrouping.
The troops returned safely to base at about 3:10 p.m., according to a Special Situation Report from Headquarters 17 Brigade.
The operation highlights how rapid intelligence-led response and cooperation among security agencies can stop threats before they reach vulnerable communities.
