Nigeria Police recorded a string of security breakthroughs across seven states and the Federal Capital Territory within 24 hours, recovering firearms, stolen vehicles, rustled cattle and illicit drugs, while rescuing kidnap victims and arresting several suspects in coordinated operations.
Among the major successes, operatives in Rivers State arrested a suspected notorious armed robber, Kelvin Tamunu, alias Jagaplus, and recovered two pump-action rifles with live cartridges.
In Nasarawa, police foiled a kidnapping along the Akwanga-Jos Road and rescued all victims unharmed, while in Sokoto, officers repelled a bandit attack and recovered 11 rustled cows.
Other operations led to the recovery of a stolen Toyota Hilux in Plateau, the arrest of a suspected trans-border drug trafficker in Katsina with 28 blocks of suspected cannabis, and the recovery of two suspected stolen vehicles alongside the arrest of a suspect with live ammunition in the FCT.
In Benue, police also raided a suspected bandit camp, forcing the criminals to flee.
The Force Headquarters said investigations are ongoing in the affected states, while security agencies have intensified efforts to apprehend fleeing suspects and dismantle criminal networks.
