Troops Overpower Terrorists, Rescue 15 Kidnap Victims In Kebbi
Intelligence-led military operations are yielding fresh gains against terrorists in the North-West, as troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, rescued 15 kidnap victims during a fierce encounter in Kebbi State.
The operation, carried out on Saturday, 11 July 2026, followed credible intelligence about the presence of armed terrorists in Marge, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area.
Troops swiftly mobilised to the area and engaged the terrorists in a gun battle, forcing them to flee into the surrounding bush and abandon their captives.
All 15 victims were rescued unharmed and subsequently reunited with their families, while no casualties were recorded among the troops.
The latest operation underscores sustained efforts by security forces to dismantle criminal networks, rescue abducted persons and restore security to communities affected by terrorism, banditry and kidnapping across the North-West.
Residents have been urged to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations against criminal elements.
