Police Recover Stolen Car, Arrest Three Suspects In Bauchi, Gombe
A tip-off from a member of the public has led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of three suspects across Bauchi and Gombe states.
The Bauchi State Police Command said the green Vectra Opel, with registration number AH 232 AKK, was stolen on 29 June 2026 from its owner, Mu’azu, a resident of Katsinawa Village along Jos Road, Bauchi.
Following a distress call, operatives of the ‘E’ Division intercepted the vehicle around Dorawan Dillalai and arrested one suspect.
Further investigations took detectives to Gombe State, where two other suspects, Abubakar Musa, 46, and Usman Abubakar, 30, were arrested while allegedly negotiating to buy the stolen vehicle.
Police said the suspects confessed to the crime and admitted involvement in similar offences in the past.
Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu commended the operatives and the member of the public whose timely information aided the arrests.
The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
