Major road infrastructure projects are increasingly being positioned as a catalyst for economic growth and regional connectivity, with the Federal Government reaffirming its commitment to expanding Nigeria’s transport network.
National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Wednesday represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the official flag-off of the construction of the Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe-Maiduguri Highway in Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
The highway project is expected to improve connectivity across the North-Central and North-East regions, boost trade and ease the movement of people and goods.
Prof. Yilwatda also represented the President at the commissioning of a flyover, modern streetlights and several kilometres of newly constructed roads delivered by the administration of Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule.
The events underscored the Federal Government’s collaboration with state governments on infrastructure development aimed at enhancing economic activities and improving the quality of life for Nigerians.
