African Praise Sunday: Bishop Kate Kawas Declares Praise A Spiritual Weapon For Victory
Many believers see praise as an expression of gratitude, but at World Harvest Ministries on Sunday, it was presented as a powerful act of spiritual warfare capable of breaking chains and securing victory.
Bishop Dr Kate Kawas, Proprietress of Lekced International School and leader of World Harvest Ministries, has urged Christians to embrace heartfelt praise as a powerful weapon of spiritual warfare rather than mere entertainment.
Speaking during the maiden edition of African Praise Sunday, themed “Let the High Praises of God Be in Our Mouth,” Dr Kawas said Scripture shows that praise has the power to overcome adversity and bring divine intervention.
Quoting Psalm 149:6-8, she described praise as a spiritual weapon that empowers believers to triumph over life’s battles.
She also referenced 2 Chronicles 20:21, recounting how King Jehoshaphat deployed singers ahead of his army and witnessed God deliver victory over overwhelming enemies.
“Praise is the weapon of warfare. We are not just dancing to be entertained but going for warfare,” she declared.
Dr Kawas prophesied freedom and deliverance over the congregation, saying God would fight their battles as they praised Him.
She also urged worshippers never to take God’s goodness for granted, reminding them to remain thankful for the gift of life and good health.
The praise service, led by Minister Nene Olajide, was marked by joyful worship, dancing and colourful cultural presentations representing Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, making the inaugural African Praise Sunday a vibrant celebration of faith and unity.
