Tinubu’s Youth Programmes Are For Every Nigerian, Not Politics – Idris
At a time when many young Nigerians question the sincerity of government empowerment schemes, the Federal Government says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s youth-focused programmes are deliberately inclusive and not driven by partisan interests.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this known during an interactive session with youths from the APC Youth Wing and tertiary institutions across the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja.
Idris stressed that flagship initiatives such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme are open to all Nigerians, regardless of political affiliation.
“NELFUND is for Nigerians, not for APC. 3MTT is for Nigerians, not for APC,” he said, noting that the programmes are central to the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda of restoring dignity and opportunity for young people.
According to him, over 788,000 students are currently benefiting from NELFUND, with more than ₦250 billion committed to tuition and student support nationwide.
He also highlighted the 3MTT Programme as a major digital skills initiative aimed at preparing three million Nigerians for the global digital economy.
The Minister said the success of the programmes is evident, as even critics and members of opposition parties are enrolling.
On the economy, Idris said recent reforms are yielding results, pointing to falling inflation, easing food prices, and Nigeria’s exit from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list as signs of growing economic stability and renewed investor confidence.
He urged young Nigerians to trust the process, engage constructively, and use social media responsibly by verifying information before sharing.
Idris reaffirmed that youth empowerment remains at the heart of the Tinubu administration, insisting that the future being built belongs to all Nigerians.
