Relief For Commuters As Federal Government Temporarily Opens Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway
After hours of frustration and standstill traffic on Monday, relief finally came for thousands of motorists trapped along the Lekki corridor.
The Federal Government has granted approval for the temporary opening of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway in Lagos, following a truck accident at the Chisco area that paralysed movement for much of the day.
The decision, authorities said, is a swift measure to ease the gridlock and restore normal traffic flow across the affected routes.
The temporary access is expected to provide an alternative route and prevent a repeat of the chaos that stranded commuters for hours.
Residents and road users have commended the move, urging the government to sustain proactive measures to manage traffic disruptions during ongoing construction works on the highway.
