Anambra Police Step Up Preparedness As CP Orutugu Rounds Off Election Security Advocacy

With political activities gathering momentum ahead of the Anambra Governorship Election, the State Police Command has reaffirmed its readiness to ensure a peaceful and credible poll.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, gave the assurance in Awka as he concluded his Election Security Advocacy Tour with officers and men of the Awka Area Command, the final stop in a statewide sensitisation and capacity-building campaign.
Addressing officers, CP Orutugu praised their discipline and professionalism throughout the exercise, which covered all Area Commands and Divisions.
He reminded personnel of their duty to remain neutral, uphold human rights, and display the highest standards of professionalism during election operations.
The Commissioner disclosed that tactical teams, intelligence units, and patrol formations have been placed on heightened alert, supported by coordinated efforts from other security agencies.
He stressed that adequate logistics and intelligence support are in place to guarantee safety before, during, and after the polls.
CP Orutugu urged officers to stay vigilant and steadfast in protecting lives and property, while calling on residents to be law-abiding and security-conscious.
He assured that the Police would continue to work closely with communities and stakeholders to deliver a hitch-free election in Anambra State.
