Nigerian troops fighting insurgency in the North-East have recorded another major victory, neutralising at least 10 terrorists and recovering a cache of weapons and equipment during a late-night operation along the Gamboru–Dikwa–Marte axis of Borno State.

The operation, carried out by troops of Sector 1, 24 Task Force Brigade, under Operation HADIN KAI, followed the recent neutralisation of over 50 terrorists in the Katarko axis.

According to military sources, the latest encounter occurred at about 23:50 hours on Saturday, 25th October 2025, when troops on ambush duty intercepted insurgents attempting to infiltrate Gamboru Ngala from the Flatari axis.

The soldiers engaged the terrorists with precise and heavy firepower, forcing them to retreat in disarray. At dawn, troops conducted a clearance sweep, confirming 10 enemy fighters killed and the recovery of weapons including AK-47 rifles, a PKT machine gun, locally made firearms, motorcycles, and communication devices.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for Operation HADIN KAI, said the operation showcased the troops’ “gallantry, vigilance, and tactical proficiency,” reaffirming the military’s determination to sustain offensive actions and restore peace to the North-East.
