Mass Defection Boosts APC Strength in Kaduna As Top Party Leaders Welcome New Members

In what appears to be a major boost for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of future political contests, a large number of politicians from various parties have defected to the ruling APC in Kaduna State.

The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, led members of the National Working Committee (NWC) to join the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, in officially receiving the new entrants into the party.

The event, which attracted key stakeholders and enthusiastic party supporters, was seen as a strong statement of the APC’s growing appeal across the North-West region. Prof. Yilwatda described the development as a reflection of renewed confidence in the party’s vision and leadership, pledging inclusivity and internal cohesion.

Governor Uba Sani, while welcoming the defectors, assured them of equal opportunities within the APC, urging unity and commitment to the party’s progressive ideals.

Political observers believe the wave of defections could further consolidate the APC’s dominance in Kaduna and strengthen its national presence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
