Nigeria Hails Equatorial Guinea’s Resilience As It Marks Independence Anniversary
In a message that underscores Africa’s shared vision for unity and progress, Nigeria has congratulated the Republic of Equatorial Guinea on the celebration of its Independence Anniversary, lauding the country’s achievements in national development and regional stability.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveyed the goodwill message to his Equatorial Guinean counterpart, Simeón Oyono Esono Angue, reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
Ambassador Tuggar praised Equatorial Guinea’s resilience, unity, and steady progress, describing its development journey as an inspiration across the Central African region and the wider continent.
Highlighting the long-standing relations between both countries, he noted that the partnership, rooted in shared values, geography, and mutual cooperation, continues to play a strategic role in promoting peace, trade, and maritime security within the Gulf of Guinea.
Nigeria also pledged to deepen collaboration with Equatorial Guinea in areas such as energy, education, and regional integration through platforms including the Gulf of Guinea Commission and the African Union.
The statement, signed by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, commended Equatorial Guinea for its sustained contributions to regional peace and economic growth, reaffirming Nigeria’s readiness to work together for a more stable and prosperous Africa.
