U.S. Mission Closed For Eid-El-Maulud
The United States Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will not open for official business on Friday, 5 September 2025, as both offices join in the observance of the Eid-El-Maulud holiday.
The U.S. Mission in Nigeria made the announcement via its official handle, noting that normal operations will resume on the next working day.
Eid-El-Maulud, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad, is a significant occasion for Muslims worldwide and is recognised as a public holiday in Nigeria.
The closure means all routine services, including consular appointments, will be paused for the day.
