APC Celebrates Landslide Victories in August 16 By-Elections, Secures 13 Of 16 Seats
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed its strong performance in the legislative by-elections held on 16 August 2025, securing 13 out of 16 contested seats across 12 states.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, OFR, described the outcome as a reaffirmation of Nigerians’ confidence in the ruling party and its capacity to deliver good governance.
The party clinched key victories in constituencies across Adamawa, Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kogi, Niger, Ogun, Taraba, and Zamfara, including the Edo Central Senatorial District and Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna.
“These victories are not mere statistics; they reflect the trust Nigerians continue to place in the APC and the growing acceptance of our party nationwide,” Argungu said.
He announced that the party will soon convene an interactive session with all elected senators, members of the House of Representatives, and state assembly members in Abuja.
The meeting, he explained, will foster unity, strengthen alignment with the APC’s vision, and enhance service delivery to Nigerians.
Argungu expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership, the Progressives Governors Forum, party stakeholders, and supporters nationwide, while reaffirming the APC’s commitment to the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“With discipline, loyalty, and unity, the APC will continue to deliver victories for our party and progress for Nigeria,” he concluded.
