SWAN Applauds Bashir Adeniyi’s Tenure Extension As Customs Comptroller-General
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has hailed the extension of Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi’s tenure as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, describing it as a well-deserved move that reflects his outstanding leadership.
In a statement released Friday by SWAN Secretary-General, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, on behalf of the association’s President, Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, the body applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to retain Mr. Adeniyi, noting that his reappointment would further consolidate the gains already recorded under his watch.
SWAN commended Adeniyi’s swift impact in repositioning the Nigeria Customs, describing his achievements as historic and difficult to match.
The association also highlighted his recent elevation as Chairperson of the Council of the World Customs Organisation (WCO), calling it a proud moment for Nigeria.
“Mr. Adeniyi’s commitment to national service and his support for sports development through Customs’ Corporate Social Responsibility efforts should serve as a model for other paramilitary agencies,” the statement read.
President Benjamin expressed confidence in the CG’s ability to drive ongoing reforms and prayed for Allah’s continued guidance upon his leadership.
